Its that time of year again, time to let go of all the year’s flaws, look back on the triumps, and start a brand new slate for 2010! Probably the biggest party night of the year, there is a lot of pressure to find a good spot to party, party, party, but also be safe, and not spend a fortune…unless you’re Diddy.
This year we are giving back to you. Cafe 4212 is hosting a NYE event that will fit everyones needs and won’t cost you an arm and a leg.
This party will consist of complimentary admission, parking, and a breakfast buffet starting at 2am. There will also be a Champagne toast at Midnight to bring in the New Year right. Myself and Dj RedSoda will be in the mix all night for your pleasure. Check out the flyer below.
For a good deal on the night, get a wrist band for $75 and drink ALL you want ALL NIGHT…see you there.
Premium Goods held a special event for the unveiling of some collaboration t-shirts from The Hundreds and DeLorean Motor Company. Really good look, even though I got there late. The Hundreds really pushes the envelope when it comes to product marketing, and for those that are retro minded, they always have something good in store for your viewing pleasure.
Premium Goods is probably the premier shoe and clothing shop in Houston. They always have the newest styles and color ways of the most popular kicks for all the sneaker heads. With one store in Brooklyn and another here in Houston, I would say they are doing pretty good.
Inside the timeless masterpiece…
My boy Ricardo came though to show some love, be on the lookout for his graffiti work coming soon…
On the left is Cameron Wynne, Head of Merchandising at DMC, but also the son of DeLorean’s current owner. I imagine it must be really cool to be around DeLorean cars for your entire life, but Cameron has been driving one since he could remember. Right now his DeLorean is in the shop being wrapped in black vinyl…I can’t wait to see it. Keep up with them on Facebook for all the latest DMC news.
This DeLorean has the steering wheel on the right side. Why you ask? Because they are shipping it to Singapore. DMC produces about 12 cars a year for sale. For about 60k you can get a new DeLorean with all the newest technology, hand built. The only other hand built car I know goes for almost half a million dollars. I don’t know about you, but I am DMC all the way.
Anyone that knows me knows how much I love children and making them happy. The Texas Children’s Hospital Toy Drive does just exactly that for me, gives me a chance to help these kids have a wonderful Christmas.
Sponsored by Advantage BMW, lots of caring people came out to have a good time, but also to donate toys and show their support. I would like to extend a special Thank You to all of my friends and family that attended the event. And a special thanks to Dawn Sloan for allowing me to be part of such a great cause. I can’t wait till next year, I am sure it will be BIGGER and BETTER!
Here are some pics from the night. Happy Holidays.
Grey Goose and Corozo was also in attendance to ensure that the beverages of the night were perfect….
Just one of many beautiful BMWs on display in the show room.
On the wheels of steel…
Special invited guest Farouk Shami attended the toy drive and even gave a short speech with some Q&A at the end. If you haven’t heard of Farouk, he came to American with $71 in his pocket, started the CHI hair products brand, became a billionaire, and is now running for governor. I had to make that networking transaction.

Kid Cudi is taking hip hop in an amazing new direction. I always complain about music not being as good as it was 5 or 10 years ago, but along comes a Kid Named Cudi and changes my mind about how I feel about music today. I have only bought about 4 or 5 albums this year, and this is one of them. Check out his new video for Pursuit of Happiness.
Drake appearance and everything…I’m not sure how I feel about that, I have mixed feelings about Ever, Greatest. Not about his talent level, but about his choice of record label, but I will save that for another day. Here is the video…dope.
Tonight Red Bull will be hosting a dj spinoff at Warehouse Live…come check it out, its gonna be a good look! Here is a quick description of what is going down and info on the night. Be there! Peace.
Red Bull 45s – an event that takes a piece of record history and remixes in into an innovative evolution of the traditional DJ competition. The event pays tribute to yesteryear by tasking DJs with competing against each other using only the 7-inch 45 rpm records popular in the 1950s and 1960s. The competition format places four DJs in four opposite corners of the venue, with the crowd in the middle. Each DJ spins for no more than four minutes on 45 rpm records, with each subsequent DJ attempting to match the last beat of the previous DJ – without the help of any beat-matching programs. The goal of the event is to revive the once revered 45 rpm record while tasking DJs to use all their imagination and expertise to create a seamless and continuous flow of music. At the end of the event, one DJ will be declared the winner based on both his musical creativity and technical skill.
For all the hiphop heads, here is a video of Dj Cut Chemist @ last years event.
My stint at Prairie View A&M university did not involve many extra curricular activities beyond studying for my classes each semester. I never did go to any sporting events due to the fact that I lived about an hour away from school and I just did not usually have the time or energy to attend. Maybe I didn’t go because my school spirit was not like that of some of my surrounding schools that worship their sporting programs in a cult like fashion.
School spirit is not a bad thing, I just didn’t have any. And when it came to Prairie View football, all anyone would ever commend us on would be our great marching band. Again, not a bad thing, but its sad when the band and the half time show received more attention than the actual football team.
Then all that changed about 6 years ago when a coach named Henry Fraizer III took over the PVAMU football program. Fast forward and this year he and the team has earned the highest achievement by winning the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Championship game against Alabama A&M 30-24.
FINALLY, some bragging rights and another reason to feel proud of my school.
Here are some pics from after the win…GO PANTHERS, keep up the good work!
Defensive End Quinton Spears and quarterback K.J. Black were named defensive and offensive MVPs of Saturday’s Title Game.

I don’t like the Lakers. Back in the day I did, but now they have turned into a bunch of crying babies that don’t really play good, clean, basketball. I think it is mandatory that when you become a Laker you take acting classes to learn how to flop, cry, complain, play dirty, and act like Kobe. Everyone on that team behaves exactly like Kobe, even though they don’t have any stats or respect to back it up. I do respect Kobe’s game, he is consistent and a great athlete, but he still isn’t ready to be next to the G.O.A.T., but that’s another story.
Anyhow, the other night Derek Fisher (dirtiest player on the Lakers) got dunked on pretty nasty by Corey Brewer of the Minnesota Timberwolves. I didn’t watch the game, but my brother called me that morning to tell me because he knew how happy it would make me to know that he was dunked on once again.
